Frederik Schroyens - Biography

Dr. Frederik Schroyens is a 1977 medical graduate of the State University of Gent (Belgium) and a 1978 graduate of the one-year Homeopathic Training Course at the Faculty for Homeopathy in London. He is practicing homeopathy since 1978.

In 1981, Dr. Schroyens became the constitutive President of VSU, the first Flemish homeopathic school in Belgium.
Since 1986 he became the Scientific Co-ordinator of the RadarOpus related projects.

In 1993 he edited a printed version of Synthesis, the expanded Repertory linked to RadarOpus. Successive editions have been printed over 60 times in 6 languages, making it the most widely used homeopathic repertory to date.

Dr. Schroyens has been lecturing in most European countries as well as in South Africa, Asia, North and South America.

Jan Scholten - Biography

Life of Jan Scholten
Jan Scholten was born on 23-12-1951 in Helmond, the Netherlands.

Chemistry
After high school he started to study chemistry at the university of Utrecht. His interest in life made him choose biochemistry. After three years he was disappointed with this study, for Jan it was too materialistic, it missed life.

Philosophy
To find out the essence in the world he started to study philosophy, but after 3 years it was clear for him that he could not find the true meaning of life there. The study was too much of an intellectual exercise instead of a real desire to find out what life is about.

Medicine
Jan started to study medicine as he thought that in man, the highest form of life, the essence of life might be found the most. During his internships he became disappointed with medicine as it was done. He had the impression that not many patients were being helped and many were even worse off.

Homeopathy acupuncture
In 1982 Jan finished his last year of medicine and decided to become a general practitioner. The idea of working in a hospital with their therapies did not suit him. In the meantime he started the study of acupuncture and homeopathy with the idea that those therapies might help people without harming them. He could use them as an addition in his general practice. When studying homeopathy he was astonished to see what it could do. It could heal patients from a variety of diseases, also chronic "incurable" ones. Patients also told stories of feeling as they did 20 years before, before they became ill. They felt generally healthy as if the disease had vanished. That was something peculiar and worth studying further. It felt for Jan as true healing, something he really wanted to do. His idea of homeopathy as a kind of palliative herbalism had turned around into that of a true healing system. So he decided to become a homeopathic doctor instead of a general practitioner.

Homeopathic doctor
Since 1985 Jan Scholten has been practicing homeopathy. In the beginning years he also used acupuncture, but he realized soon that it was better to do one thing well, than two half as well, so he focused completely on homeopathy. In his practice he was confronted with the contradiction between very good results with deep healing and apparent failures. So he studied with all the well-known homeopaths in the world to master homeopathy: Alphons Geukens, Jost Kunzli, Roger Morrison, Bill Gray and especially George Vithoulkas and Rajan Sankaran.

Research
Building on the foundation of the old masters in homeopathy and his teachers, Jan started to search for new possibilities. Here he was led by patients that seemed "incurable" in practice, but he had confidence in the "Law of Similars" of homeopathy. This law promises a cure when one gives the simillimum, the right remedy, the one that is similar to the disease. This meant to Jan that when a patient is not cured the simillimum has not been given. The obvious solution is then to give another remedy, one that fits, but how to find such a remedy when it is little or unknown in homeopathy.
One solution was to prescribe little known remedies on just a few or only one symptom. This unsure method produced many failures, but also very good results regularly, because by "chance" the right remedy was prescribed. The next step was for Jan to realize that he could learn from those cases. The picture of a little known remedy could be extended or completed by looking at the response in the patient. What the remedy could cure had to also be the picture of the intoxication as the law of similars says. This way Jan was able to develop the pictures of many remedies further, making them understandable and applicable in other cases.
Still many cases seemed "incurable". Jan knew that the more remedies available the better chance homeopathy had to cure more patients, which can be concluded from the law of similars. This realization was contradictory with the way homeopathy was being done in those days and the way it was taught to him. In many homeopathic practices it was mostly so called polychrests, a group of about 50 remedies that were given in almost all cases. In Jan's practice those polychrests proved to be valuable, but only in a very small amount of cases.

Classification
The next step was to think in groups or families. The picture of Calcium is extracted from well-known combinations such as Calcium carbonicum, Calcium phosphoricum and Calcium sulphuricum. The picture of Calcium can then be combined with Nitrogen and Chlorum to form new remedy pictures as in Calcium nitricum and Calcium muriaticum (chloride). This procedure, called group analysis, turned out to be highly successful. These discoveries were described in his first publication "Homeopathy and Minerals".

Periodic table, mineral kingdom
The thinking in groups or classes, was so successful that Jan applied it to the whole Periodic table, the table of elements or atoms that is the basis of chemistry and the Mineral Kingdom. He discovered the pattern behind the periodic table and the essence of the rows and columns in that table. These discoveries were the subject of his second book "Homeopathy and the Elements". This has become a standard work in homeopathy. It has made it possible to predict the picture of all the substances in the mineral kingdom. It has made the case analysis of patients much more straightforward and led to a much higher success rate in cure. The pattern of the periodic table is also akin to the pattern of life. The development of life is reflected in the sequence of the elements. Hydrogen is element number one and is the conception. The end of life with decay is the uranium series, with its decaying radioactive elements. It thus offered a beautiful and simple model to understand the mineral kingdom.

Essence
In the process of discovering remedies it became clear that remedies have an essence. Vithoulkas already had described the essences of the well-known remedies. That was quite new in homeopathy, before that time most remedy pictures were a list of symptoms without structure. They were like loose sand, one had to learn them by heart without seeing the meaning or understanding them but sciences assumes some order, it only has to be discovered. It turned out that there is an order, remedies have an essence. They have a basic theme or problem from which the symptoms can be understood. The peculiar thing is that the essence is mental and not physical. The essence of disease is in the mind and not in the body. Disease proved to come from within instead from without. This discovery is in contrast with conventional medicine that looks for "causes" from outside like bacteria, viruses and trauma's.

Homo universalis
Jan has been practicing homeopathy for 20 years as a homeopathic doctor. His interest is in people, in their health and disease, in the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspect. He is in favor of the idea of the Homo universalis, the scientist well known in all fields of science. Hence an interest in homeopathy, where medicine, psychology, mythology, chemistry, physics, biology and religion come together.

Jeremy Sherr - Biography

Jeremy Sherr was born in South Africa and grew up in Israel. He began formal homeopathic study in 1980 at the College of Homoeopathy, London. He simultaneously completed a degree in Acupuncture at the International College of Oriental Medicine. Though he practices homeopathy exclusively, his knowledge of Chinese Medicine shines through in his homeopathic thinking.

Jeremy began teaching at many British schools of homeopathy and founded the Dynamis School in 1986. His school is the longest running post-graduate homeopathy course in the world. He has taught the Dynamis curriculum in England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Israel, Canada, and throughout the United States. Jeremy has lectured in Spain, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, China, Russia, India, Japan, South Africa, Mexico, New Zealand and Australia. He maintains busy practices in London, Tel Aviv, and New York.

He was awarded a fellowship from the Society of Homoeopaths in 1991 and a Ph.D. from Medicina Alternativa and from Pioneer University. He is a member of the North American Society of Homeopaths and the Israeli Society for Classical Homoeopathy. Jeremy is an honorary professor at Yunan Medical College, Kunming, China and an associate Professor at university Candegabe for Homoeopathy, Argentina.

He is the author of numerous homoeopathic books and journal articles and has proved 35 new homeopathic remedies. His books the Dynamic and Methodology of Homoeopathic provings and Dynamic Materia Medica of Syphilis are homoeopathic bestsellers and are used as textbooks in many schools. He is currently working on a series of books on the Noble gases of which 'Helium' and ‘Neon’ have just been published. He is also the Author of Q-Rep, the repertory of Mental Qualities.

For the past 7 years, Jeremy has been living and working in Tanzania with his wife Camilla, also a homeopath, on their voluntary project "Homeopathy for Health in Africa" treating AIDS patients and researching the remedies of AIDS.

Jonathan Hardy - Biography

Jonathan studied Zoology at Oxford University and obtained an Honours degree in 1978. He then studied Medicine at Southampton University and qualified in 1984.

He became a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1988 and since then has worked fulltime on the south coast of England as a Homeopathic doctor.

He practices classical Homeopathy, combining the time-tested traditional techniques with the exciting new methods developed by the well- known Homeopathic teachers of the last twenty years.

Laurie Dack - Biography

Laurie Dack has been studying and practicing homeopathy for 30 years.
It all started with picking up a copy of ‘Kent’s lectures on Homeopathic Philosophy’ in a waiting room. His holistic approach to healing deeply resonated with her and the journey began. From there she completed her initial medical training and went straight into studying homeopathy with some of our contemporary masters: Geroge Vithoulkas, Lou Klien, Jeremy Sherr, Jayesh Shah and Rajan Sankaran and many others.
Years later Laurie continues the journey of studying, practicing and teaching homeopathy.

Massimo Mangialavori - Biography

Dott. Massimo Mangialavori has been practicing Homeopathic Medicine since 1985 and maintains offices in Bologna and Castel del Piano, Tuscany, Italy. He is an internationally renowned homeopath regularly lecturing in Europe, the United States and Canada, South America, Israel and Japan. Reflected in his seminars and books is Mangialavori’s avid curiosity and love of deep, analytical thought on various subjects including anthropology, natural history, complexity theory, myth, psychology, literature, among others. Michal Yakir - Biography

Working as a Homeopath for over 25 years, Michal has been developing her systematic approach to Plants in homeopathy almost equally long. A botanist, a models ecologist and a researcher in her past and an avid gardener nowadays, she was intrigued by the homeopathic implications of the evolutionary order found in nature, particularly in the plant kingdom. Investigating the question for many years, adding clinical observation, late-night studies, new homeopathic ideas and collaborating with colleagues - all were synthesized with her own botanical, psychological, and Kabbalistic understanding: the knowledge that the world is one living entity. The integration of all this led to the development of the Plant Table, which indeed exposes an astonishing order of the plant kingdom. Other than that, Dr. Yakir has completed a PhD (with collaboration of G. Vithoulkas) in the Jerusalem University on the effect of homeopathic treatment in PMS. Misha Norland - Biography

Misha Norland, born 1943, began studying homeopathy in 1970 under John Damonte. He helped set up the British Society of Homeopaths, was the first editor of its journal, and taught at the newly established College of Homeopathy in London. He also undertook training in transpersonal psychology with Barbara Somers and Ian Gordon-Brown. Upon moving out of London he founded the School of Homeopathy in Devon in 1981. He soon developed a homeopathy correspondence course; helped set up Schools in New York, USA, in Athens, Greece, and in Tokyo, Japan; conducted annual provings; taught internationally; wrote books and articles. He still continues to practice and teach homeopathy with undiminished enthusiasm.

Rajan Sankaran - Biography

Rajan Sankaran, MD (Hom), FSHom (UK) is an internationally renowned thinker, teacher, and writer of the homoeopathic system of medicine. He is the Head of The Other Song, International Academy of Advanced Homeopathy in Mumbai , India.

He is reputed to be a clear and original thinker and is best known for his pathbreaking concepts in homeopathy. He introduced the concept of disease as a delusion, the categorisation of remedy states into kingdoms, the seven levels and an expanded number of miasms. His pioneering work on the sensation linked the patient more strongly to the source of the remedy by following the energetic lead of the patient to increasingly deeper levels of experience.

In his Synergy Approach, he integrates traditional tenets and modern concepts. Approaching a case from various angles produces synergy and leads to sure prescriptions and best results as well as to a deeper understanding of what is to be cured in disease, and what is curative in a remedy.
